We are expecting significant disruption to rail services to and from Gatwick on the following dates:

  • 24, 25 and 27 January - due to a train drivers strike.

Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport.

Which services will be affected?

Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25 and Friday 27 January (ASLEF and RMT drivers strike):

  • There will be no Southern services through Gatwick.
  • There will be a reduced Gatwick Express service with trains running every 30 minutes, rather than every 15 minutes, between Gatwick and Victoria.
  • There will be no Gatwick Express service overnight on strike days between 22:00 and 05:00, however Thameslink services will still operate to and from the airport throughout the night.
  • There will be no Gatwick Express services between Gatwick and Brighton.

Find out more information on Southern's website.

Thameslink services are not expected to be affected by either strike, but will be extremely busy. Great Western services to Reading will not be affected.

Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express will be accepting each others tickets during the strike.
